We hosted a Guitar Hero party last night. The theme was to come dressed as your favorite guitarist/rock star. I attempted to be Slash, but costume was dashed by my need for a leather coat. Anyway, we had some great costumes.
Then came the bracket tournament. I left this part up to Ben. He ran a double elimination bracket. Ben, Pepper, Atom, and I had first round byes because we play the most. The most surprising loss was Wolf (one of those old guys who plays the real guitar), he lost to Jodi in the first round. I proceeded to add insult to injury with beating him in the 4th round of the loser bracket. The final round was the closest battle all night with Ben and Atom battling for the ultimate Guitar Hero champion. Atom ended up the champion beating Ben by a little more than 500 points. I didn't have a trophy, but Atom made an awesome cake.
I reserved my copy of Guitar Hero III today. I opted for the bundle to get an additional guitar. I can pick it up after 11am on October 28th! I'm so excited.
As if I needed any more toys, Ben and I bought this today.
I also joined this Vox Group. Ben's a natural. I want to see Wolfdog play. Also, I'm wondering if I can count this as "live" music or at least learning to play the guitar. When I get better, I'm going rock the 80s.
